1) Food bio technology- is the application of technology to modify genes of animals, plants and microorganisms to create new species which have desired production, marketing, or nutrition related properties.
2) Genetically engineered foods- are foods with genetically modified organisms that have had specific changes introduced into their DNA by genetic engineering
3) The potential benefits of GE foods are pest resistance, herbicide tolerance, disease resistance, cold tolerance, drought/ salinity tolerance, more nutrition, pharmaceuticals, and phytoremediation (helps clean the earth of unwanted metals).
4) Some potential risks of GE foods are new allergens within he food supply, antibiotic resistance, production of new toxins, concentration of toxic metals, and possible growth of toxic fungi
